What is snapshot: Snapshot is a bash script that gathers the most common system information required by a support organization to troubleshoot problems. Snapshot executes several commands packaging their outputs on html format to a resulting compressed file named hostname.tar.gz. What systems can run snapshot: Snapshot runs on IA32, x86_64 and IA64 machines running Debian, Red Hat or SuSe. There is no configuration needed for snapshot. Who can run snapshot: Root is the only user allowed to run snapshot. Information collected: Snapshot collects information from different system components such as: Kernel Hardware Software Filesystems Network Services Stats Log Files Misc Files Graphics This is the only documentation on this software and it will be updated accordingly.
