General Information

Task for today.

I'll prompt you on the task for today.

Version Control

General Info

This project is versioned in the Public Depot P4 Server. The P4CONFIG file setting points to a file with required settings and reference to authentication/credentials files.

Starting a Session

At the start of each session, use 'p4 login -s' to ensure a valid ticket is available. Notify me if not.

Interacting with P4 Jobs

P4 Jobs are used for this project. The jobs used to manage this project are prefixed with J2J-, and are unrelated to the SDP jobs prefixed with SDP- that the sync_jira_to_p4jobs.sh manages. The J2J- jobs are P4 jobs, not associated with JIRA.

Load the shell environment functions to interact with jobs:

cd ../tools/dev_env.sh source ./dev_env.sh

To create a new job, use the 'njob' alias.

njob <Type> <Descriptin>

Type values are:

  • 'B' is 'Bug'
  • 'D' is 'Doc'
  • 'F' is 'Feature'
  • 'P' is 'Problem' - a suspected bug for which the issue or cause isn't well understood.

Sample:

njob F "Your Description goes here."

IMPORTANT: Use 'njob' (or equivalent) and trust that the automated P4 job numbering mechanism will "just work," incrementing the nunber after the J2J- prefix. (This is not default P4 Server behavior; the JobIncrement trigger enables this behavior to combine a JIRA-like issue prefix with an incremented numeric identifier.)

To list open jobs, use the 'ojobs' alias.
