A Perforce German User Group has been setup - the intention is to provide a forum for Perforce related discussions most likely for German speaking clients but membership is open to anyone!
This looks to complements the worldwide Perforce-User mailing list which is both very active and helpful, and the Perforce User Conferences (to date these have all been in the USA).
The group is having an initial 1 day meeting:
Date: | Friday 28th November, 2003 |
Location: | TUI InfoTec GmbH & Co KG Karl-Wiechert-Allee 4 D 30625 Hannover Germany |
The main focus of this event is for customers to meet and share information. Tony Smith from Perforce (head of the UK Support Team) will be there to provide some insights into Perforce plans, and also answer technical questions. Presentations will be in German and English.
The current provisional schedule is from 9.00 - 5.00, with the following presentations (not necessarily in this order):
Welcome/coffee
Introductions (by all participants) - a few minutes per person introducing themselves/company/use of Perforce/questions they would like to discuss
Presentation by Tony Smith of Perforce (covering upcoming releases and answering some technical questions)
Lunch
Presentation by Ralf Martin (Harman Becker) on server performance and logfile analysis (P4GLA)
Presentation by Robert Cowham (Perforce Consulting Partner and Trainer) on advanced branching strategies
Presentation by Ralf Oyen (TUI InfoTec) on TUI's processes
Others - to be decided
Roundtable discussion on areas of interest/sharing of information (at least 2 hours)
Review of day and suggestions for future events
We plan to have dinner together in the evening at a local restaurant (sponsored by Perforce), starting at 7.30pm.
There will be no charge for attending the event itself, although participants will obviously have to pay for their own travel and accommodation costs. The venue facilities are kindly being sponsored by TUI Infotech.
Lunch and dinner are kindly being sponsored by Perforce.
We are looking to get a group discount rate at a local hotel - info to be provided shortly.
To register interest, please email Robert (see below). Further discussions will take place on the Perforce-User Mailing List.
More information will be put up here shortly.
