Currently, I am doing internal Perforce consulting as a senior software configuration management engineer at Docent, Inc. I am also maintaining and developing the installers of Docent software on NT (using InstallShield and Wise Solutions), Solaris, and HP-UX and acting as Buildmeister for all Docent releases on these platforms.
Prior to my role at Docent, Inc., I led software configuration management
efforts and the promotion of makefile guidelines for eight years in
the Operating Systems and Networking organization at Sun Microsystems, Inc.
In this role, I supported several hundred engineers in use of the Network
Software Environment and subsequently TeamWare, working closely with
the development teams of both CM tools. I helped design and implement
package definitions for Solaris releases from 2.0 to 2.5. More recently, I worked
as an SCM consultant on an Interactive TV project while living in Hong Kong for three years.
My formal education is in music (a B.A. in bassoon performance) and business (an M.S. in Quantitative Business Methods), along with extensive coursework in philosophy and computer science.
My wife and I are avid birders.
