In helix Versioning Engine release 2016.1, perforce introduced command-line aliases. Aliases are useful to:
- Reducing repetition for frequently used commands.
- Simplification of complex commands – you don’t have to remember all your favorite command options
- Automate sequences of operations – multiple commands can be replaced by a single alias.
