Fixed logging issue with sync_replica.sh and recreate_db_sync_replica.sh.

Both scripts had a '> $LOGFILE' where it should have been '>> $LOGFILE'.

checkpoints, which are already compressed.

Fixed logging issue where log was truncated in mid-script.
